Whenever consistent with applicable laws, it is Geptemps policy that employees participate in both a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check prior to starting an assignment. This is done as part of our Phase Two Screening after an offer of employment is made on the client’s behalf.
The more someone moves and the more names they have lived under means there is additional research to do. In addition, each county sets their own administrative fees for each check. The good news is this is not a revenue generator for Geotemps, Inc. We conduct the screening for the safety of our employees, clients and company; billing the direct cost at no markup.
Geotemps, Inc. is happy to “payroll” individuals our clients identify for their projects. However, they will still have to pass all of Geotemps’ pre-employment screening standards. Often clients think they “know” people really well, but may not be aware of convictions and/or recreational activities that may bar them from particular employment.
When it comes to rates of pay and bonuses, the client is in the driver’s seat. You tell us how much you want to pay the employee, or provide a range that works for your budget that is dependent on skills and experience. You also tell us if and when you want to increase their wage.
This being said, we will let you know if the wage you are offering is in line with the current and local market for that skill set. If it is well below the “going rate” we may encourage you to increase the wage, not for the benefit of Geotemps, Inc., but for the benefit of attracting the caliber of employee you desire for your project.
A client can convert a Geotemps, Inc. employee to their payroll at any point. There is typically a fee for doing this prior to 520 hours.
The duration of an assignment varies in response to our client needs.
Geotemps, Inc. currently offers a mini-med insurance program which presently satisfies coverage requirements, and in which employees can opt to enroll. The program includes: medical, prescription, vision, dental, short term disability, and term life. The premium is wholly employee sponsored.
Geotemps, Inc. offers no outright paid vacation or paid holidays. However, many of our clients opt to include paid holidays and vacation in accordance with their regular staff company policies. We are happy to oblige. Those hours are billed at the same mark up as we continue to be responsible for all state, federal and local withholdings for those wages.
Just tell us. We will cancel the assignment and if you would like to replace the employee. Obviously the sooner we know about any issues the sooner they can be addressed. If a client is concerned, but still willing to give the employee a chance, they should still let their Geotemps, Inc. Staffing Manger know. This way we can respond to behavior or performance issues before they truly become an issue.
Clients receive an invoice following every payroll for wages and the necessary mark-up which includes all necessary employment taxes and fees (Social Security Benefits, Workers’ Compensation Insurance, Unemployment Insurance and any other applicable federal, state and local withholdings). Invoicing for screening and expenses usually follows within a couple days on a separate invoice at a net 30 receivable, unless prior payment arrangements have been approved.
